Welcoming Dinner
On the 28th of November 2016 a welcoming dinner was held at the E&O hotel for all the delegates and guests.
The Guest of Honour was the Chief Minister of Penang – Rt. Hon. Mr. Lim Guan Eng. Also attending the dinner was Hon. Mr. Danny Law Heng Kiang, the State Executive Councillor for tourism and also Hon. Dato’ Malik Kassim, the State Executive Councillor for Religious Affairs.
The dinner was held in a very cordial mood with good food and music and it was an enjoyable night for all delegates and guests.
Conference
On the 29th of November 2016 was the Conference day and the official opening was graced by His Excellency, the Head of State of Penang Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Abdul Rahman bin Abbas who officiated the opening of the Conference.
The Rt. Hon. Chief Minister of Penang, Mr. Lim Guan Eng was also present and gave a very good speech.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rt. Hon. Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican was also present and presented a very informative keynote address on Malaysia’s Policy of Foreign Affairs.
More than 150 delegates attended the Conference and there were many speakers.
Gala Night
After the Conference ended at 5.30pm it was time to get ready for the Gala Dinner at the same venue.
It was a formal and glittering affair with wonderful food and cultural performances together with a jewellery fashion show.
It was a fitting end to the Conference and everyone had a wonderful time meeting each other to say “Au Revoir”, hoping to meet and continue the fellowship at the next Conference in 2019 in South Korea.
